Chemaide’s Zyme-Ball is an encapsulated biological block that contains billions of friendly bacteria, several different enzymes, surfactants and a detergent. Zyme-Ball is activated when a small amount of liquid is passed over it - this can be either water or urine. Upon activation, the bacteria & enzymes are carried into the drain and fragrance released into the air. The enzymes will then break down all fats, oils, greases, uric salt, lime scale, and anything organic.

Once the drains are clean the surfactants in Zyme-Ball will then coat the inside of pipe-work to ensure that nothing can easily adhere to those pipes. Therefore customers will no longer have blocked drainage, or the cost of clearing this drainage. By reducing build up in drains any unpleasant smells in the washroom are also reduced. Zyme-Ball utilises the fresh fragrance of peppermint oil so there is no further need for any additional air fresheners.

How does Zyme-Ball work?

The extremely powerful biological elements of protease, lipase and urease create a strong anaerobic reaction within the urinal and downstream drainage system where most foul odours start. Zyme-Ball gradually and naturally dissolves ALL forms of foul substances that can cause drain blockages.

Is Zyme-Ball a waterless Urine Outlet Device?

No. There is no such thing as a truly waterless urinal. Some manufacturers of so-called waterless devices even supply a watering can so you can manually flush the urinals! Zyme-Ball only needs a minimal amount of liquid to activate the highly effective and efficient enzyme block which is contained in the unique Zyme- Ball cage. Zyme-Ball will reduce the amount of water needed for flushing by up to 95%. With a small amount of water or urine, Zyme-Ball will disperse uric salt and significantly reduce lime scale whilst creating a very pleasant fragrance within the washroom.

What is the difference between Zyme-Ball and the numerous other Urinal Outlet Devices (UOD’s) that are available on the market?

Zyme-Ball is installed above the actual urine trap within the urinal and is not regarded as a UOD device. Zyme-Ball’s unique design is the perfect answer to cost effective urinal maintenance. The following points will prove that Zyme-Ball is the optimum product for most urinals. Zyme-Ball is exceptionally powerful with each Zyme-Ball containing billions of friendly bacteria. Zyme-Ball significantly reduces the cost of ongoing maintenance because it contains a proven de-scaling action which quickly erodes uric salt and lime scale. Zyme-Ball should not be compared to inferior urinal as no “bio mass” residue is left within the drainage system. The Zyme-Ball cage is also biodegradable and when disposed of correctly it will dissolve completely. Zyme-Ball will not permanently mark or dye urinal surfaces or plastic fittings. Each urinal will only require one Zyme-Ball unlike other products that often require handfuls of chemical to control foul odours. Zyme-Ball has an extremely effective fragrance level.

Will Zyme-Ball help to save the amount of water that is used in flushing urinals?

Yes. A standard urinal with average use will be used around 150 times a day. This amount of usage will require between 24 and 96 water flushes per day. By introducing Zyme-Ball to the urinal bowl the need for flushing is reduced to between 2 and 6 times a day. Water savings will very much depend on the water control systems that are being used within specific washrooms. Zyme-Ball aims to reduce the amount of water needed by 90- 95% from an uncontrolled standard cistern flushing system.

How long will Zyme-Ball last & how do I know when to change it?

Zyme-Ball has been designed to effectively last for approximately 3-4 weeks with a 90 - 95% decrease in flushing. However this will vary according to the level of urinal usage. Zyme-Ball remains effective until it has completely disappeared and for approx 2 days afterwards, however it is recommended that when Zyme- Ball has visibly dissolved it is immediately replaced. Unlike many other products, only one Zyme-Ball is required per urinal.

Using a Zyme-Ball starter pack To enhance the initial use of Zyme-Ball customers may purchase a Zyme-Ball starter pack. Each starter pack contains 12 Zyme-Balls, a 750ml urinal bowl cleaner trigger spray (pre-loaded with urinal cleaning powder) and 3 additional urinal cleaning sachets. Simply fill the trigger spray with water, and use the solution to clean urinal face work and treat the dark marks that often occur on floors beneath urinals. The contents of the urinal cleaning sachets can be applied direct to each urinal trap as an initial seeding process without the need for additional liquid.

What is the Waterwise Marque?

Waterwise is the leading authority on water efficiency in the UK, whilst being a UK Non Governmental Organisation (NGO). Waterwise is an independent, non-profit making organisation that receives funding from the UK Water Industry, sponsorship and consultancy work.

Waterwise works closely with the Environment Minister’s Water Savings Group, the Water Industry and Regulators. Waterwise also set up the Saving Water in Scotland network. Waterwise Marque is the first award scheme of its kind in the UK. The Marque is awarded annually to water-using products which highlight water efficiency or reduce water wastage.

The Waterwise Marque highlights the most water efficient products available on the UK market. A manufacturer can use the Waterwise Marque to provide clear point of sale information for the buyer.

Waterwise Marques are awarded each year to products which are water efficient, reduce water wastage or raise the awareness of water efficiency. Bathroom, kitchen &, white goods manufacturers and outdoor water-using product manufacturers are all encouraged to apply.
