Disposafe is part of our Absorbents range of products. Spillages in dry environments are inconvenient but usually containable using clay granules or similar. An oil spillage in a wet environment is more difficult to resolve. Disposafe is 10 times more effective than clay granules and will absorb oils and chemicals even in wet conditions where clay is not competent.
This lightweight product can absorb oil up to 12 times its own weight and will not leach the absorbed spillage into neighbouring materials. It is prefect for inclusion in an emergency spillage kit - simply spread onto the spillage, then brush up. One 25 litre container of Disposafe will absorb up to 36 litres of oil and is effective upon the following materials: - Cyclohexane Diesel fuel Gasoline Heptane Hexane Hexene Motor oil 10w30 Motor oil 5w30 Paraffin oil Pentane Varsol Kerosene Jet fuel oil Petroleum Ether Cutting oils Silicone oil Canola oil Corn oil Paints Industrial inks Benzene Toluene Xylene Phenol Carbon Tetrachloride Chloroform Dichloromethane - Butanol Ethanol Ethyl Ether Ethylene Glycol Isobutanol Isopropanol Methanol Propanol. It also reduces flammable vapours by up to 90%.
Disposafe is easy to use, simple to apply, and can be used to remove oil contamination from water. It acts rapidly to absorb the oil but not the water and is easily removed by straining. It is safe, non-toxic and can be used on land or water presenting no environmental hazard. Disposafe may be safely stored in a dry area indefinitely. Disposal can be by incineration or land-fill where the product assists with bio-degradation of hydrocarbons.
